A-M was very funny and teary and looked sensational in a mumu sort of
gown and lots of hair, putting on glasses to read her speech.
Roger and Mrs. Olsson were in attendance. The Lester tribute
dance number was done by many of his old dancers, most of whom had been
in A-M's act at one time or another during her 17 year relationship
with Lester.

5, 2000: HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Ann-Margret is going back on stage
for the first time in seven years -- to star in ``The Best Little Whorehouse
In Texas.''
She's agreed to tour in the show for a year in the U.S. and then maybe
overseas. She says she's missed being on stage with a live audience.
A-M had been offered ``Annie Get Your Gun'' but when producer Manny
Kladitis came up with the ``Whorehouse'' offer she accepted.
Ann-Margret's currently in Melbourne for a one-week cameo as Marilyn
Monroe's grandmother Della in CBS' ``Blonde.'' She did not know Marilyn,
but they shared the same hairdresser and makeup artist George Masters.
A-M is also contemplating accepting the feature film offer to star in
``Finding Home'' before starting December rehearsals in ``Whorehouse,''
which will open in Feb, 2001.

Summary
As
the final moments of the millennium tick away, a middle-aged woman
juggles with a recent proposal of marriage. She confides to Monica
about her unwillingness to accept any man's hand in marriage for
fear of abandonment from the ones she loves. This triggers the
memory of a childhood promise and with some divine intervention
from our angels. She finds herself returning to the home of her
youth to dig up a time capsule with hopes that someone very close

Filming
of "Happy Face Murders"
Toronto, Canada, September 23, 1998: There is a saying, "no rest for
the wicked" and it must be true because Ann-Margret is already out of
the country and starting another new film. This film is for ShowTime/Paramount
and is titled, "The Happy Face Murders". This movie is based on a true
story of the happy face murders that took place in Portland, Oregon,
some four and a half years ago. Ann-Margret plays a very un-glamorous
and plain looking battered grandmother (but battered by a 20 years younger
man than her, thank you). Yes, she is a grand-mother, but one with such
vengeance.
Ann-Margret has certainly had her share of unusual roles during her
38 year motion picture career but no part has been more bizarre than
Lorraine Polenski, Ann-Margret’s character in the film. Ann-Margret’s
antagonist is played by Marg Helgenberger ("China Beach", "Species 2")
Marg plays the detective that investigates Lorraine and her part in
these gruesome murder/rapes. This is a true story. The only difference
being there were two newspaper columnists who did most of the investigation
into the case, but, in this story they have been made two policemen.
(one a woman) The strange thing is that the true parts of this story
are the hardest to believe, . . .so go figure. The film is being directed
by the brilliant Australian director Brian Trenchard-Smith. It was written
by John Pielmeirer (Agnes of God). This movie will air on ShowTime.

Smith, NY POST August 5, 1998
One terrific plus of this job is
previewing things before anybody else. We are invited to advance screenings,
and often have CD's and cassettes of coming albums and TV shows. I love
saying "Oh, I've seen that already."
Recently, I had a great time watching Ann-Margret in the wicked, lavish
"Life of the Party," Lifetime's two-hour TV movie about the delectable
Pamela Harriman, based on Christopher Ogden's biography of the courtesan-turned-ambassador
to France. (Well, her enemies always referred to her as a "courtesan."
But, really, Pamela was just a knockout who knew how to charm men and
was very smart.)
Under the direction of Waris Hussein, A-M gives another of her glamorous,
multifaceted performances, much in the vein of her classic "The Two
Mrs. Grenvilles." The movie airs on October 12th on Lifetime TV

was instrumental in reorganizing and reinvigorating the Democratic party
in the late 1980's.
The film will highlight key moments of he glamorous life from 1941 when
